A Trip through the Human Body

This is my virtual field trip through the Human body! 

1. You will be learning about the different parts of the body and their main functions.

2. Next you will have a chance to see a picture of the different parts, then you will guess what part they are.

3. Lastly you will watch a video with all the parts put together and see how the human body works.

Directions

Okay class first and foremost the human body is very complex, I want you to go on a scavenger hunt through the Human body for parts that I will be describing to you. I will be posting a list of questions pertaining to parts, cells and other things involving the human body with pictures and videos. I want you to go on this virtual hunt learning about the specifics of each part of the body that is provided for you. You will have a chance to see up close and personal how the body works as a whole.

After your virtual tour is over there will be an assignment following, those directions will come to you later. My advice for you before you begin is take notes and be aware of every clue you receive.

I am the core components of the brain, the vertebrate spinal cord, the invertebrate ventral nerve cord, and the peripheral nerves.
I respond to stimuli, and communicate the presence of stimuli to the central nervous system

I am important in the production of hormones including vitamin D, renin and erythropoietin.
I am located behind the abdominal cavity in the retroperitoneum.

I am a gland organ in the digestive and endocrine system of vertebrate.
I am a dual-function gland, having features of both endocrine and exocrine glands.
I help in the further breakdown of the carbohydrates, protein, and fat in the chyme.

I am a muscular organ found in all vertebrates that is responsible for pumping blood throughout the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions.
I have a involuntary striated muscle tissue.
I weigh on average 250 g to 300 g in females and 300 g to 350 g in males

I am located between the esophagus and the small intestine.
I am involved in the second phase of digestion, following mastication (chewing).

Assignment

Now that you have learned a little more about how the body works, we will be having a test to see how much you have understood. We will do something quite similar to this...

First I will take one question from each part and put it in a list then you are to match each description with the part to the right.
Next there will be a diagram of the human body with lines for you to fill in what goes where.
Lastly I would like you to write in further explanation on two random parts, sentence form is ideal.

So make sure to study your Human Body, Take good notes class, and Good luck!
